YEAR ROUND

• School Spirit Night Team - This team contacts local restaurants and schedules nights where a percentage of proceeds from sales that evening will benefit the PTO. Our goal is to have one School Spirit Night every month during the school year.

• Recruitment/Volunteer Team - This team works together to coordinate volunteers and recruit more members for PTO. They represent the PTO at many school events ie. Kindergarten Orientation, Back to School Night and Math Night.

• Procurement Team - This team works by contacting local businesses and asking for donations for upcoming events or just general donations. The team works both in-person and over the phone or email. Sometimes donations need to be picked up and one of the team drives to pick it up. This can be a great small job.

FEBRUARY

• Bingo Team This team plans and coordinates the Adult Bingo event. The event location is coordinated and set up. Food and beverages procured, set up and served. Prizes wrapped and displayed. There’s something for everyone.

MAY

• Cinco De Mayo - The PTO hasn’t had a Cinco De Mayo yet, but it’s one of our dreams. This team coordinates with like-minded individuals from the schools and creates a plan and schedule. From choosing a location, entertainment, food, vendors etc. to ordering decorations and food items. This team coordinates it all. This is a BIG job. We need people with the vision and desire to bring more of the Latina community traditions to the North Marion PTO calendar.

OCTOBER

• Fall Carnival - This team maintains Fall Carnival games and their storage. Procures candy and prizes throughout the year (think: shopping sales!) Procures donations from local businesses (works with the procurement team for this) Coordinates set up, food, school participation and volunteers for the night of the carnival. Organizes take down and storage for next year.

JULY

• Fun Run Team - This team contacts former corporate sponsors of Fun Run and asks them to donate again. They manage the logos and arrange for a banner to be made. Determine with the schools how big the banners will be and where they will be placed. They order the banners, pay for(with school funds), and pick up the banners.

TBD

• Escape Room - We don’t have an Escape Room on the calendar yet, but it has been on our wish list for Middle School for a while now. This team purchases the Escape Room kit, coordinates with the Middle School faculty and volunteers to host this event.

• Family Dance - This team plans and coordinates the Family Dance. Members make phone calls, plan decorations, contact DJ’s for quotes, shop for supplies and coordinate chaperones.

• Paint Night - We would like to have a fun paint night for families, it's currently on our wish list. This could be for IS or MS. We would need to find an instructor, purchase supplies, and promote this fun event.

• Kids Bingo - This event is held at the Primary school. The team coordinates a small snack and organizes donations (gotten by the procurement team) for prizes. The team also coordinates set up and take down of the event. It is held in the evening.
